Canada Home Tutoring is always looking for qualified tutors and instructors for out various services. We accept resumes and cover letters by fax or regular mail. We also have an online application form. Please check out the job requirments below to see if our jobs are right for you.

For all positions, you must be willing to travel within the city. Most of the work is done in clients' homes, so transportation is mandatory. We prefer instructors who have their own vehicles, but we will consider applicants who are on public transit and are willing to go the distance.

Experience is very important to us. All our positions involve teaching. We like to see applicants who have some experience in that area. It does not have to be formal, professional experience. Volunteer positions, student teaching, peer tutoring and the like are all valuable activities when it comes to tutoring.

If you are applying for a subject tutoring position, you must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant subject field. We do not accept applications for these positions from applicants with a degree in progress (unless the degree in progress is not the applicant's first degree) nor do we accept diploma programs. A Bachelor's degree is the minimum acceptable credential. In general, we prefer degrees in Education for any tutoring position. Science degrees for Math and Science tutoring and Arts degrees (particularly History or English majors) for Humanities tutoring. We do accept applications from tutors with any degree, however.

For our computer tutoring services, we do not require a degree. In this case knowledge and experience is the most important factor. You must know computers, either through education, professional training, or personal experience. You must also be able to convey your knowledge to others in a professional and helpful manner. While a degree is not required, an educational history in a computer related field or in education will be valuable.

For our ITPC instructor positions, we favour applicants that are familiar with the tests they will be teaching. The ideal candidate has written the test in question and scored well. For many of the tests, however, we will consider other applicants as well. English and Math are the primary skills tested in many of the exams, so candidates with strong backgrounds in either areas can find work on several of the courses we offer. For the MCAT, knowldge of the sciences is key. We often hire graduate students in the fields of Biology, Chemistry and Physics for these positions. For the DAT, however, the successful applicant must have written the test and particularly scored well in perceptual ability and soap carving.

If you feel your skills match our needs, fill out our application form, or fax us a resume and cover letter. We're always happy to hear from you.
