ACT Coaching-We Can Help You Maximize Your Score

The ACT is the most popular alternative to the SAT. It is not the same test. The ACT also has a math section, but the math tends to be more difficult, requiring some grade 10 knowldge. The ACT also has reading comprehension, which is very similar to the SAT. The Verbal section consists entirely of sentence corrections. Finally, there is a Science section. This is primarily reading comprehension, but some knowledge of Scientific Method and principles is useful. The main similarity between the SAT and the ACT is that the ACT is also primarily a multiple choice test, and so the ACT can be coached.

The International Test Preparation Center will not teach you simple tricks to beat the ACT. We will give you strategies that will help you ace the test and may provide some assistance with your later schooling as well. We will teach you methods you can apply throughout the ACT to maximize your score.

Don't let the test makers decide where you should go to school. Take control and beat the test. The International Test Preparation Center can help you do that, and make your dream come true.

ACT Information

The ACT is a multiple choice exam consisting of four section: Mathematics, English, Science and Reading. The test is more tied to course content than the SAT is, but not significantly so. The Math section is more difficult, but the English component is somewhat easier. The Science portion is unique to the ACT, but is similar to reading comprehension.

The ACT Math questions are primarily not word problems. The topics are slightly more difficult than those on the SAT, including some harder geometry topics, and some more advanced algebra, including factoring and polynomials.

The ACT English consists only of sentence correction, where you are presented with an English sentence that may or may not have an error and asked to choose the best correction for the error. In general these are less difficult than the SAT completions and analogies. There is a separate reading comprehension which is about the same level of difficulty.

The science section is very similar to reading comprehension. You are given a passage to read and then answer questions based on it. You will need to be familiar with concepts about Scientific method, theory and hypothesis. Otherwise, the needed information is usually in the passage itself.

Like any multiple choice test, there are skills you can learn to improve your score. If you're going to take this alternative, then it's in your best interest to be as well prepared as you can be.
