Tutors

Subject Tutors

Subject tutors work one on one with students in their homes. They are required to travel to the students. A vehicle is preferred, but we do hire tutors who are on public transit. We may ask you to do online tutoring as well. You must be good with children and youths to do this job.

To be a subject tutor, you must have a minimum Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject field. This is mandatory. We will reject any applicant who does not have a degree. We will consider applicants whose degrees are from universities outside of Canada. You must be able to speak, read and understand English with fluency. Other requirements may exist for specific subjects.

Pay for subject tutoring starts at $10/hour of instructional time, and can go as high as $20/hour, depending on the nature of the student tutored.

Computer Tutors

Computer tutors work with clients who have compuer problems. Work is done in the clients' homes, so travel is required. Owning your own vehicle is an asset, but nor required.

To be a comuter tutor, you must have experience working with computers. This can be through a degree or diploma, work experience, or personal experience. Ability to teach and patience with clients is important and will be checked through the resume and cover letter. You must be able to speak, read and understand English with fluency.

Computer tutors are paid a base rate of $10 per instructional hour. The rate can go up depending on the nature of the clients' needs.

Job Search Coaches

Job search coaches must be able to help clients perfect their resumes and give advice on how to find a job. Search skills, interview skills and personal evaluation are all important topics to know. We are looking for people who understand the ins and outs of job hunting, either through education, employment or personal experience. Our coaches must be able to speak, read, and understand English fluently.

Job search coaches are paid a base rate of $10 per instructional hour, with higher rates possible depending on the nature of the client.

Instructor positions

All instructor positions pay $20 per instructional hour.

DAT Instructor

DAT instructors are responsible for teaching all aspects of the DAT courses we run as well as doing individual coaching between class dates. The most important parts of the DAT are perceptual ability and soap carving. As these are unique to the DAT, all DAT instructors must have written the DAT before. Current Dental students are preferred.

GMAT Instructor

GMAT insructors are responsible for teaching our GMAT courses and coaching. Instructors must be knowldgable in English and/or mathematics. Preference is given to instructors who have written the GMAT, but we also accept instructors who are highly knowldgeable in one or both fields of study tested on the exam. We often divide the GMAT training into Verbal and Quantitative sections, so one instructor is not necessarily required to know both parts.

GRE Instructor

GRE insructors are responsible for teaching our GRE courses and coaching. Instructors must be knowldgable in English and/or mathematics. Preference is given to instructors who have written the GRE, but we also accept instructors who are highly knowldgeable in one or both fields of study tested on the exam. We often divide the GRE training into Verbal and Quantitative sections, so one instructor is not necessarily required to know both parts. Because of the similarity in subject matter, GMAT instructors can often teach the GRE and vice versa.

LSAT Instructor

LSAT instructors are responsible for teaching all aspects of the LSAT in courses and individual coaching. The LSAT is mostly a verbal test, but has some question types that are uncommon. Current Law students are preferred, but we will consider any applicant with a strong verbal background.

MCAT Instructor

MCAT instructors are responsible for teaching all or part of our MCAT courses and coaching options. Applicants must have strong knowldge of verbal reasoning and writing skills, physics, chemistry and/or biology. We will accept applicants who are strong in only one or two of these areas, but applicants who have written the MCAT are preferred.

Student Liaison

The Student Liaison is our advertising person on a campus. The liaison's main job is posting our course advertisments. Knowledge of the campus is a must. The applicant must also be in good physical shape. A current student on the campus is preferred.

Pay is seven dollars an hour for three to five hours a week. This includes cutting the posters and travel from building to building. We expect that the liaison will put up on average 50 posters per hour.
